Shoofly Cake Mix

This mix captures all the molasses and sweet crumb flavors of the traditional shoofly pie recipe in the form of a delicious, moist cake! Great for the holidays, this mix makes a warm, classic cake for the winter season. Providing all the ingredients you need to make a 9" x 13" cake, this mix lets you simply add water, mix, and bake to perfection! Shoofly pie has a gooey bottom, a cake-like middle, and a crumb topping. Early North American settlers baked the pie, left it to cool outside, and witnessed a few flies buzzing around it. While this might not be the most valid name origin, another theory is that the brand Shoofly Molasses was a part of the original recipe.
